Processing horse manure and waste bedding

HORSE MANURE

  • Piles up
  • Has bad odour
  • Contains pathogens
  • Necessity to solve its use or disposal
  • Necessity to follow EU regulations

AEROBIC FERMENTOR EWA

  • Meets all EU regulations
  • Automatic process of fermentation takes only 2 days
  • 100% elimination of all pathogens
  • Produces humus rich in nutrients
  • Turns waste to a revenue stream

WE KNOW YOUR WASTE

Horse breeding is one of the few growing, perspective industries of European Union (EU). During the last two decades the number of horses and riding activities has been continuously rising which entails increasing quantity of horse manure. A horse of 455 kg produces about 7.5 tons of manure a year! This manure was traditionally used by mushroom growers and farmers. However, a decrease in the number of mushroom growers and small farms that are able to use the manure combined with sharp increase of the horse population has led to a new issue: many horse breeders have difficulties to get rid of the manure in an environmentally sensitive manner according to the EU Regulation EC No. 1069/2009, that lays down health rules concerning the disposal of animal by-products.

WE KNOW WHAT TROUBLES YOU

Horse manure piles up, smells bad, it is pathogenic and infectious. The parasite eggs and larvae find their way through the soil back to the organism of horses, other animals and humans. It is an ideal environment for vectors to reproduce. It is ecotoxic and there is a risk of groundwater contamination. Raw horse manure is unstable and it is not suitable for direct return to the soil because it continues to decay in the soil consuming the soil nitrogen that is vital for plants to flourish.

WE KNOW THE SOLUTION

The problematic biodegradable waste (BDW), usually expensive to dispose of, can be used and turned into an eco-friendly, beneficial and profitable revenue stream. Integrate the aerobic fermenter EWA to your operation and simply load and unload all the BDW by a built-in conveyor.

BENEFITS OF COMPOSTING IN EWA

The material heats by itself in the fermenter which destroys pathogenic germs and compost is no longer infectious. After the fermentation, there is no bad smell, no dung water, no vectors, no pathogens, no dangerous viruses, no bacteria, no eggs and larvae, that could find their way to humans through the soil. As the material has no bad smell any more, it is possible to stock it even in densely populated residential areas.

The fermentation process takes place automatically and it hygienizes every biodegradable waste you load in.

No longer will you have to pay for disposal of the biodegradable waste. You can safely return hygienized waste to the soil, use it for heating or sell it to producers of soil conditioners and fertilizers or directly to local gardening shops, they will be happy to save money on buying expensive commercial substrates or artificial fertilizers.
